Mission Statement

Our School Ethos Statement

We are fully committed to the well-being and all-round development of our pupils.

We provide a caring, stimulating and safe learning environment in which expectations for all are high and where pupils are encouraged to fulfil their potential and develop as capable individuals.

We strive to encourage in each child an awareness of, confidence in and respect of themselves and for others.

The April 2010 Inspection stated, ‘the atmosphere is one of mutual respect and consideration.’

We will encourage staff, governors and parents to work in an active partnership to ensure that each child receives a broad, balanced, stimulating and creative learning experience, enabling them to become enthusiastic life-long learners.

To achieve our vision, we will provide high quality teaching within a supportive learning environment which encourages each child to achieve their full potential.

This will be in accordance with The United Nations Convention for the Rights of the Child.

To provide a balanced, stimulating curriculum that fulfils the requirements of the Northern Ireland Curriculum.

To promote the moral, intellectual, physical and social development of each child thereby helping them to realise their potential.

To encourage in our pupils initiative, determination and confidence.

To promote mutual respect between pupils, staff, parents and the wider community.

To establish and maintain a partnership with parents in the education of their children.

To establish and maintain a positive approach to discipline where procedures are clear and staff consistent in their approach.

To develop our pupils’ appreciation of their own culture and traditions and those of others thus helping them value diversity in society.

To maintain effective links with relevant pre and post primary schools.

To promote the school in the wider community.
